Xanadu Bar is one of the standout hostess bars in Phnom Penh. Setting up a bar is pretty straightforward—just need a beer tap, a fridge, some tables, and a few staff. But keeping a bar successful and running for nearly a decade? That’s a different story, and clearly, Xanadu Bar is doing something right.

These days, Phnom Penh is brimming with hostess bars, mostly clustered on three main streets near the riverside. Some, like Chhing’s, are a bit further out, but those are the exceptions. Xanadu Bar is right in the thick of things on Street 136, sandwiched between other hostess bars. Despite the competition, its colorful English sign makes it stand out, even if the bar itself is nestled between similar venues.

Inside, Xanadu Bar has a classic setup. The bar is on the left side of the room, with table seating on the right. The place is lit with charming Chinese-style lanterns that create a cozy atmosphere. There’s a dance pole, though it’s not used all the time, but when it is, the performances are a nice touch.

Further back, you'll find a pool table surrounded by elevated seating and some comfy sofa-style chairs. It’s a well-decorated spot, not exactly luxury, but certainly one of the nicer hostess bars in the area.

Xanadu Bar boasts a large staff—often around three dozen women on a busy night, making it one of the better-staffed bars in Phnom Penh. The majority are young and attractive, mostly in their twenties, though you’ll also see a few older women and even a ladyboy or two.

The quality of the staff is high, with many striking and appealing women. Whether it's the management’s eye for talent or something else, Xanadu seems to attract a lot of good-looking women.

The vibe here is relaxed and fun, with friendly staff who aren’t pushy. Pricing is reasonable compared to other bars: a lady drink costs $4, and the bar fine is the usual $10. Many of the women are open to spending time outside the bar, though what they charge varies. Typically, you might see requests between $50 and $100.

I always make it a point to visit Xanadu when I'm in the area. They might not remember me each time, but that's okay—I appreciate the anonymity. I’ve consistently enjoyed my visits, thanks to the attractive women and the overall good management. It’s a solid choice and likely to remain a staple in Phnom Penh’s nightlife scene for years to come.
