Bangla Road

Anything goes here. At night road is closed to traffic and it becomes a pumping hive of activity. Ping pong show touts, shooting range touts, people selling more illicit things (wipe your nose dear), but you don't feel harassed. Say no politely and they move on, even bow and thank you! Try the street food, it is SUPERB!!!! Pick a vendor and a meal choice and the vendor will find you a seat at the long trestle tables, then bring your food. The pork belly is out of this world as is the chicken and veg stirfy. Wash it all down with a cold Chang or Singha beer. Try the markets, the clothes are ridiculously cheap. Then hit the club and dance, drink, karaoke the night away. During the day, a totally different vibe, open for traffic and much less people, but still everything operates. An eye opener of note, but such fun and a must visit.

Be very careful here, better still dont go at all unless you are in a large group and definitely dont be there early hours of the morning. My 2 sons got attached and bashed here when a group of Thai guys tried to steal their mobile phones. They'd just left the gated off main street to get a Tuk Tuk or taxi back to our hotel. They escaped the attackers and ran to get back in to the 'safety' of the main street however the police at the gate not only would not let them back in but ALSO did not want to know why/how they were bleeding profusely OR offer ANY help or call for any help whatsoever!!! They even tried to pay him to help them! They had to walk back down the ally they were attacked on looking for help/a ride-no one would help them until an elderly lady ushered them through her shop so they could run to another street to find a ride. They turned up at our hotel busted open, bloodied and shaken and we had to get them to hospital to be stitched up. Having police and tourist police there are useless and theres no safe organised way out of the area. So disappointing and did not expect this from Thai culture OR Thai authorities. Had the police bothered to help them at the time, they likely would have caught the scum bags.

Bright lights, loud music, and nonstop energy — Bangla Road is easily the most vibrant and happening street in Phuket. The moment you enter, the entire atmosphere changes into a lively nightlife experience filled with colors, music, and excitement. Bangla Road is a walking street at night, lined with clubs, bars, restaurants, and street performances. The neon lights, live music, and energetic crowd create a unique party vibe that feels completely different from the calm beaches nearby. It’s a great place to simply walk around, explore, and soak in the lively environment even if you're not planning to enter any clubs. We enjoyed strolling through the street, watching performers, and experiencing the buzzing nightlife. The area feels very tourist-friendly, with plenty of food options, shopping spots, and entertainment all in one place. Despite being crowded, the overall vibe is fun and safe, especially for couples who want to experience Phuket’s nightlife together. The best time to visit is after sunset when the street becomes fully active and the lights come alive. Even a short walk here gives you a complete feel of Phuket’s famous nightlife. Highly recommended for experiencing Phuket’s party atmosphere, night photography, and an energetic evening walk.
