Walking Street
Walking StreetΒ (Thai:Β ΰΈΰΈΰΈΰΈΰΈΰΉΰΈΰΈ΄ΰΈ) is anΒ entertainmentΒ andΒ red-light districtΒ in theΒ cityΒ ofΒ Pattaya,Β Thailand. The street is a tourist attraction which draws both foreigners and Thai nationals primarily for itsΒ night life. The Walking Street area includesΒ seafoodΒ restaurants, liveΒ music venues,Β beer bars,Β discothΓ¨ques,Β sports bars,Β go-go bars,Β nightclubsΒ andΒ hotels. Also tourists are able to watch a variety ofΒ sex shows.
In addition to a large number of institutions offering sexual entertainment, a significant number ofΒ prostitutes, both girls and gay men, work on the street. AlthoughΒ prostitution in ThailandΒ is illegal, there are estimated to be 27,000 prostitutes working in Pattaya, many in Walking Street.
Many of the prostitutes work asΒ bargirlsΒ in the bars and clubs along the street. Their clients are often required to pay aΒ bar fineΒ to take them out of the bar.
