They hire gogo dancers to sexually assault women. I felt quite uncomfortable and frankly degraded with the actions that were done to me by the gogo dancer. He pulled me onto stage, and I was initially confused and tipsy. He poured alcohol down my back, onto my clothes, taking off my pants in front of the crowd, and dry humping me bent over. It was quite terrifying and I froze in fear, not to mention had to clean my alcohol soaked clothes afterwards. I kept saying “no, no stop” but he was forcing his way with me and throwing me around the stage It would make me feel better if I knew that Restroom Bar acknowledged this and would not permit their performers to do this again to other women without explicit consent. Truly traumatizing, and I cannot believe this is a queer space in Singapore; it ruins the image of the community that other queer people in Singapore have fought so hard to change.

이 클럽은 정말 독특한 콘셉트예요. 입구가 마치 화장실처럼 꾸며져 있어서 처음 보면 깜짝 놀랄 거예요. 😆 재미있는 건 문 앞에 “소변 금지”라는 안내문이 붙어 있는데, 아마도 예전에 취한 손님이 진짜로 여기서 볼일을 본 적이 있어서 그런 게 아닐까 싶어요. 예전에는 돼지고기 정육점 콘셉트의 다른 클럽이었는데 사장은 같다고 하네요. 공간은 넓지 않아서 연휴나 공휴일 같은 날엔 추천하지 않아요. 진짜로 화장실에도 못 들어갈 수도 있어요. 😅 공연은 꽤 멋지고 재미있어요! 그리고 싱가폴에서는 술값이 워낙 비싸서 이곳의 3시간 무제한 주류 뷔페는 정말 가성비가 좋아요. 물론 술 맛은 기대하지 마세요 — 그냥 취하기엔 충분한 정도예요. 🍸🍺 다만 혼자 여행 중이라면 조금 어색할 수 있어요. 대부분의 손님들은 친구들이랑 같이 와서 어울리거든요. 그래도 바텐더들은 꽤 친절해요.

[Developing story] My wife and I visited Restroom.sg (a.k.a. Aftermath People) on Friday, Aug 1st, after enjoying drinks at Foxtail nearby. I had a great time at Restroom — the music was on point, the DJ did a fantastic job, and the vibe felt welcoming as always. I've always appreciated Neil Road’s LGBTQ-run bars for their inclusive atmosphere. They’ve made both me and my wife feel safer and more at home than many other nightlife spots in Singapore, like Clarke Quay. That night, however, something went terribly wrong. I had around more than SGD $100 and I also had SGD100 note also in my wallet before entering the bar — I’m certain of it, as I paid at Foxtail using PayWave and never used cash afterward. At Restroom.sg, I ordered a $50 gin & tonic jug(paid using paywave) and we had a great time. Like I usually do in Singapore, I left my phone (and unfortunately this time, my wallet too — admittedly careless on my part) on the table while we were drinking. When we were leaving, I remember taking my wallet but forgot my phone due to being quite tipsy. The next morning, I realized my phone was missing along with the $100 note from my wallet. I returned to the bar and thankfully retrieved my phone. However, when I raised the issue of the missing cash, I was told they’d review the CCTV footage and asked to come back Sunday evening. I did. They then claimed no one touched my wallet during my time there. When I asked to see that for myself, I was told to return Tuesday to view the footage, as “the camera guy” would be there then. This back-and-forth feels unnecessary and unprofessional — especially for something that should be straightforward to verify. The delay and reluctance to show the video make me uncomfortable and raise doubts about transparency. I’ve had beautiful memories at other Neil Road venues like Out Bar, Epiphyte, Tantric, and the now-closed Tuckshop and Sausage Market — never once have I felt this kind of discomfort or suspicion. I’m writing this review not out of anger, but disappointment. Singapore nightlife — especially in such tight-knit, safe-feeling spaces — should not have such unresolved experiences. This review reflects the situation as it stands now and I’ll update it accordingly once the matter is resolved. — A long-time supporter of the Neil Road community who still believes in its spirit.
