⭐⭐⭐½ — Come for the Girls, Escape from the Vibe Dragon, Dragon, Dragon… Let's start with the obvious: arguably some of the prettiest Thai women you're going to find in any go-go bar on Walking Street. Seriously. I've met some absolutely stunning women at Dragon. I could easily say that three of the most beautiful Thai women I've met in Pattaya worked here. The girls generally seem friendly, have good personalities, and Dragon definitely attracts a higher-end selection. Drinks are good, mixed drinks are decent, beer prices are reasonable, and overall the actual product they're selling is excellent. Unfortunately, somebody forgot that a night out is also supposed to be FUN. There's no ping-pong-ball system like some of the other clubs have, so you don't get that crazy interactive "make it rain" atmosphere. Dragon feels much more structured: rules, whistles, mamasans watching everything, staff hovering around. And then there are the waiters. Guys, PLEASE MOVE. Why do some Walking Street waiters insist on standing directly between the customer and the girls? I'm not here to admire the waiter. I'm not here to buy the waiter a drink. I'm not here to become best friends with the waiter. I'm here for the GIRLS. Yet you constantly get that stare that seems to say, "What about my drink? What about my tip?" Sorry, guys. Not happening. Then you've got some of the mamasans giving you a look like you've personally disappointed their entire family because you're sitting there relaxing instead of buying another round. It just kills the vibe. Interestingly, I've met quite a few girls at other clubs—including Geisha—who previously worked at Dragon. From what several workers have told me, Dragon can pay very well compared with other clubs. I've heard figures as high as roughly 3,500 baht per workday for some of the most attractive/popular girls, versus around 2,000–2,500 at some other venues. If that's accurate, it certainly explains why Dragon can recruit such beautiful women. So here's my Dragon strategy: If your mission is to walk into a go-go bar, find an absolutely gorgeous woman, buy the required drinks, pay the bar fine and head out together—Dragon is VERY hard to beat. But if you want to sit around for a couple of hours, laugh, talk with the girls, buy drinks and just enjoy a relaxed night without feeling like you're being supervised? There are better places. Dragon has FIVE-STAR TALENT trapped inside a TWO-STAR ATMOSPHERE. Beautiful girls. Friendly girls. Good drinks. Reasonable prices. Now somebody please hide the whistles, tell the mamasans to smile, and tell the waiters to STOP STANDING IN FRONT OF THE GIRLS. We can see you, gentlemen. We just didn't come to Walking Street to look at you. 😂
